Where is the "allow" function in Noscript for FF57+

Post by yahya69 »

I am at loss where I can allow / forbid - temporarily or permanently - individual URLs. FF no longer seems to have the status bar where it used to reside, and when I click the Noscript icon on the button bar, I also cannot find an option to do this although the noscript icon has a small number in a red square which I assume is the number of hosts from where the current side tries to load scripts. I also miss the Noscript settings. Where have they gone? Currently, with Noscript enabled there seems to be no way of getting sites like Facebook to work because I can't allow akamaihd.com and other URLs which need to be whitelisted. edit: They are still in the whitelist where I put them in the past, but the whitelist seems to be no longer honoured.

Also, when I open the settings from the addons menu, the only thing which I see is the list of blacklisted and whitelisted domains. Where have all the other settings gone?

Find the URL in either the menu or Status page. To allow, click the second icon. The hover text says "Trusted." The icon changes to say "TRUSTED." To make that temporary, click the little clock next to the "D". To forbid, click the third icon, which is tagged "Untrusted."

Buttons for doing this for the whole page are not yet ported to the new version, but are expected in the future.

None of the old UI is supported by the new Firefox version, so it all has to be rewritten.

The whitelist is being honored, but it is hard to tell what is happening in the limited UI.

One thing to check is to click on one of the TRUSTED icons. This will pop up a set of checkboxes. Those configure what is allowed for trusted URLs.

That's all there is today. There is a long list of things that are being worked on, but I'm not sure of all of them.
