Setting a URL to "Default", which is of course the default, is equal to setting it to "Trusted", i.e., "Default" does NOT block scripts. This is obviously really bad.
To reproduce: open "www.spiegel.de". With "Default" you'll see an ad around the content, with "Untrusted" you don't.

Also, the little open and closed lock icons: What do they mean? The mouse hover for BOTH of them reads: "Match HTTPS content only". Huh?

Running FF57 on Linux (Kubuntu 17.04), Firefox auto-updated NoScript for me.

I forgot to say that the NoScript options page slows down FF severely and often crashes FF as well.

This bug still persists with 10.1.2.

In fact, it got worst. because now I cannot switch from "Default" to "Untrusted" for some sites: I can select "Untrusted" in the UI, but it doesn't have any effect. Reopening the NoScript menu shows that the site is still "Default", which equals to "Trusted", i.e., scripts can be executed.

It seems like the migration from old to 10.x didn't work properly.

Possible troubleshoot:

Go to the options page.

Click on your first entry in the list (mine is aa.com) on default.
Click on default again.
What's all checkmarked? Script should *not* be checkmarked.
Uncheck it and see if that solves your problem.

Under NoScript Settings, select a Default, and untick all boxes under it you do not want to allow - this applies to all Defaults so all new sites will be affected. Same goes for Trusted, Untrusted and Custom category - change one and applies to all.
I wish category settings were separately presented on NoScript Settings page so newbies wouldn't be confused by the new UI.
