5.1.7rc1 & direct media links

Actually I don't know if that is correct, but this:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mozil ... eotest.mp4

seems to be throwing NoScript for a loop.

If I saw correctly...

With nothing allowed, you couldn't click the placeholder (& have the "clip play" [I'm not quite sure if it does "play" or is supposed to "play"?]).
Then once you allow, githubusercontent.com, the NoScript icon was not reflecting status correctly.

(This might be more a part of general breakages in 5.1.7, not sure?)

SeaMonkey 2.49.1 (ought to get 2.49.2) x64, & I have not restarted SeaMonkey since installing 5.1.7.

And yet this works as expected, https://html5demos.com/assets/dizzy.mp4.
Placeholder.
Click it & video plays.
No need to allow, anything.
And if you do allow html5demos, the icon reflects correctly.

Not specific to NoScript 5.1.7rc1. I'm using 5.1.5rc2 and I see the same issue.

When I try to Allow raw.githubusercontent.com, it just says Allow 'https://raw.githubusercontent.com'.

Related console message (when trying to click the place holder) -

Code: Select all

InvalidAccessError: Component returned failure code: 0x8053000f [nsIWindowWatcher.openWindow] nsPrompter.js:364
Wonder if it's partially related to Github serving that video with MIME type "application/octet-stream"?

On that link, I get the same NoScript behavior as you, but the video says "Video can't be played because the file is corrupt".

This video works completely as expected for me - https://www.quirksmode.org/html5/videos ... _bunny.mp4
