Embedded videos (e.g. Youtube) in 3rd party websites

Post by Noscript user »

Hello to all the users. Noscript is simply indespensible. Shout outs to all involved in its use.

To the subject of my post:

I noticed a persistent problem with noscript when watching videos embedded into 3rd party websites.

For instance, when you are reading a news article with a Youtube video embedded in the article and the reader clicks said video, the video expectedly plays -- but when you try and shuttle forward or back in the video a highjacking warning (unexpectedly) occurs. This gets to be tedious if a user is actively shuttling throughout a longer video such as a video presentation to take notes.

I am mindful of security issues and the reason for the highjacking warning, but is there nothing that can be done about watching embedded videos without this occurence? At least for youtube videos (safe provider in google)?

Thanks!
