Unable to download a few Youtube properly anymore

For the past month or so, I have had trouble downloading via FlashGot some Youtube videos I used to download before with no issues.

In the past, most (if not all) videos even offered me the "DASH" option. Now, by right-clicking on the FlashGot icon, all I get is the option of dowloading EITHER the audio/webm or the video/webm, meaning I can't get a video with sound. This occurs also on HD videos.

The issue does not apply to all videos: some of them I can still download OK.

I am using

Firefox 53.0.2 (32-bit)
Flashgot 1.5.6.13

Any ideas?

By the way I followed the suggestion of turning all the

browser.tabs.remote.autostart.*

I have to false

I did that but problem still remains.

Looks like plenty of formats should be available, so I guess FlashGot needs a (YT) update.

hi the rube, thanks... so, to clarify, are you suggesting FlashGot needs some code update to restore the download functionality for certain videos?

No longer able to download from YouTube using Flashgot.
While I can see available selections when clicking on the Flashgot icon, the checkbox field column has disappeared.
I see the checkmark at the top but the field column does not appear on the left for the available selections.
Is there a keyboard shortcut that I can use to toggle checkmark even though I cannot see the column?
I tried using spacebar when having items highlighted but it did not do the trick.
Right now I am using an older version of Firefox to keep using this utility.

Using;
Firefox Developer version 55.0b7
Flashgot 1.5.6.14

First thought was e10's, but FlashGot causes e10's to be disabled, doesn't it, so that wouldnt' be it.


Next thing to test is with a new clean Profile & only FlashGot installed.
Does that work?

If not, anything related noted in Error Console?

There is no way to check off the selections I want as the checkmark column is not there.

The type column goes all the way to the left side.

Even tried moving the columns at the top header.

Do you know if there is a keyboard shortcut to check/uncheck highlighted selections?

No, the Error Console, Ctrl+Shift+J.


And so you're talking about the built-in download manager, not the FlashGot Media icon.

To get to that window (of the screen shot I provided in my last post) I just clicked on the Flashgot icon in that appears in the top bar of Firefox when I go on YouTube.
I use the built-in manager, Yes.

I don't see anything relative to this issue in the error console.

I'm going to downgrade to a earlier version of Firefox Developer and see if I can get it worling again.

I notice you use SeaMonkey 2.0.14 (as noted in your sig)... that is an old version or is not updated?

What's the benefits of Seamonkey over FireFox?

I downgraded Firefox Developer to version 54.x and everything seems to be working again.

Obviously something in the latest update causing interference with FlashGot.

For others having the same issue be aware that not keeping up with the latest versions of your browser can leave you vunerable and may compromise your security.

I am willing to take the risk with an older browser version until a new version of FlashGot is available.
