Youtube autoplay
Youtube autoplay
I don't want youtube videos to autoplay. Why doesn't NoScript block them from autoplaying? These videos are not ones I've bookmarked.

NoScript is a security tool, not an annoyance removal tool. I'm not sure what your best option would be.

Re: Youtube autoplay
Barbaz, please enlighten me. My understanding has been that Youtube videos need Flash to run, and since Flash is a script, NoScript would block it. What is my error?

Re: Youtube autoplay
Youtube videos are HTML5 videos that are served in chunks and pieced together in the browser.
When you view a Youtube video, you need to Allow scripts from certain domains. Unfortunately for you, these domains aren't fixed and unique to each Youtube video. Some of them are constant, the same across all videos, and some of them revolve somewhat randomly. They may not even stay the same all the way through a specific video.
Sure, you can Forbid them, but you are then preventing the video being played at all, and if you allow it the next video you watch will autoplay. And if you try to solve for that by allowing full domains, you might be unable to watch any video - you'll just get another full domain to Allow, but when you do the obligatory reload, you'll just be presented with a totally new, different full domain to Allow. And so on.
Not a solution.

Re: Youtube autoplay
Thanks, Barbaz. The explanation is a bit beyond my capability to understand, but I appreciate your attempt.

I know there is a option to press few keys on keyboard. You don't need a script to stop youtube autoplay.

This your idea of a fun guessing game?ActionMan wrote:I know there is a option to press few keys on keyboard.
No one is going to find your input constructive unless you name the 'few keys on keyboard' and explain how to enable the 'option to press' those keys.
