I see this problem since long time, with old and new (5.x) NoScript. After cleaning cache and sites thumbnails for New Tab Firefox/Nightly will not pick new once, even in New Tab is white listed in NoScript. Problem touch pinned sites. I've 20 pinned sites.

Str:

1Open path:

C:\Users\Your user name\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\random.default\thumbnails
2. Delate all thumbnails from there
3. Start Firefox/Nightly and open New Tab

What suppose happen:

Firefox should start picking new thumbnails, but nothing happen.

Possible workaround:

Disable NoScript, restart browser, enable New Tab, Firefox pick new thumbnails for pinned sites without problem

That is a feature, not a bug - viewtopic.php?p=84377#p84377

Thanks for answer, now this is a bit more clear for me, but for regular noScript user this is a problem, I think pref:
noscript.bgThumbs.allowed

Suppose be set to true by default, and setting it to false as option for power users ;)

-1. Regular NoScript users likely won't even realize there's a hole there. This is not Peek-a-boo, being unaware of a security hole doesn't make it go away.
