problems with https

Post by LP »

So, this behavior started sometime in the last few weeks - I'm not quite sure when, so probably the most recent update. Unless I tweaked some setting without realizing it?

Here's the problem:

There are now certain http sites which, when I click 'temporarily allow...' refreshes the page, but now replaces those sites with an un-allowed https version. Then NoScript refuses to permit 'temporary allow' on that new https site ... meaning I'm stuck.

You-tube is one such site. These forums, in fact, are another. If I click 'Temporarily allow http://forums.informaction.com' the NoScript popup menu refreshes to now show that https://forums.informaction.com is not allowed (http has changed to https) ... and though it lists 'Temporarily allow https://forums.informaction.com', it does nothing when I attempt to click that menu item.

Meaning I can't 'temporarily' allow the forums.informaction.com site.

This makes many pages unuseable. For instance, I can no longer play youtube videos, because I can't temporarily allow https://www.youtube.com

This is quite frustrating, and is making many many pages unusable.

So, um .... help? :(

What NoScript version are you using?
Are you visiting sites you've Marked as Untrusted?

Version 2.9.5.2

And no, not visiting an untrusted site.

Simply a site that has not 'setting' and that I want to give temporary permissions.

This is new behavior. Used to be, I gave a site temporary permissions and that was that.

Now, for about 25% of sites, when I do that, it replaces that menu option with a 'give temporary permissions' menu item to the httpS version of the same domain name, and refuses to let me give permissions to the httpS:// address.

very odd. And frustrating.
