ABE Question

I received this message when I signed into my Amazon account. I have no idea what to do. Also...should the Hosts file contain an entry such as 127.0.0.1 localhost (No # in front of the line). Thanks.

What to do is fix your poorly-done HOSTS file. Instead of pointing "blocked" sites to 127.0.0.1, which is
your own machine, point to 0.0.0.0 which is an invalid destination IP.
For more information see
https://hackademix.net/2009/07/01/abe-w ... where-omg/ (do NOT use 255.255.255.0 as suggested there and elsewhere, when I tried that it caused MASSIVE slowdown)

Yes this line is required for proper functioning of your networking.

The only entry I have in the Hosts file is the local host - which points to 127.0.0.1. I have ABE enabled but simply don't know what the message means or what action I should take. I didn't know about blocked sites pointing to 0.0.0.0. I've tried the other addresses and ran into issues so I deleted everything except the local host. That's good info.

That's weird, that site really should not be LOCAL...
Can you please post the DNS lookup of the site? (Command Prompt, enter this: )

Is this your WAN IP in NoScript Options > Advanced > ABE?
I think your VPN provider is blocking amazon-adsystem.com by returning an IP address that ABE thinks is LOCAL. It's blocked here too, apparently by the Disconnect malvertising blacklist...

no, it is 162.216.46.13 which is the IP of my VPN provider.

54.239.31.89 appears to be an Amazon IP.

I finally blocked it by using umatrix and privacy badger. It was already blocked in Noscript but apparently that wasn't enough.
