temporaily allow all this page is crashing the plugin

Post by wallst »

When I first get to the site no site is approved, when I go to select "temporaily allow all this page" and the page reloads, BAM!
particularly on this site https://vimeo.com/64904508 but I have experienced it in various places.
this crash is not seen on my win 8 machine, I sent the crash dump to mozilla.

What is the URL to the submitted crash report?

What happens if you have only the problematic site open, and Allow Scripts Globally instead of Temporarily allow all this page? If the crash does *not* occur then, please compare that script listing to the script listing with all scripts blocked, you should be able to find out what script(s) are really essential.
(Tip: you can right-click the NS menu not on a site, such as on the About NoScript entry, to copy the entire listing to clipboard to paste with Ctrl-V)

Let us know, thanks.

https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/ ... 2712160404
I'm having trouble finding the script listing you speak of unless you are referring what sites I'm allowing.
The crash still occurs with allow all scripts globally
but i've narrowed it to 2 sites
vimeo.com
vimeocdn.com

I notice in the crash report it makes mention of the mswsock and on my machine I have IPV6 turned off, maybe this is not a problem with the noscript plugin

Just Mark crazyegg.com as Untrusted - as soon as I (Temp-)Allow that, next time I reload the page cause the browser crash. And apparently it's a tracker so whatever.

Oh, and make sure your Flash plugin is enabled.

Try a (video) driver update ?

nvwgf2um.dll causes a full APPCRASH condition loading any webpage in IE9 final

Or some "silk test" from "Borland Software Corporation and Micro Focus"?

Might try restarting your computer in Safe Mode with Networking, then try Vimeo & see if you still crash?

interesting, sorry to have wasted your time and thanks for the help.
Just curious how did you identify what dll is the perp so easily, the modules page in the crash report?

What's all this about DLL's when I could reproduce the crash on a Linux system where I don't have a NVIDIA driver and HWA is disabled in the browser?

(It's a self-built SeaMonkey so can't submit a crash report.)

The crash report, Modules, if you scroll down, you'll see what I mentioned in red.
Doesn't mean that's the reason, but it does give you something to start with.
