"Auto-reload page" no longer works in Mac Firefox

Mac OS 10.8.5, Firefox 44.0
For at least six weeks now, when selecting NoScript's "temporarily allow all this page", the FireFox web page almost always no longer automatically reloads anymore. An extra click on the "reload page" icon is required. When visiting numerous web sites during the day, auto-reload works perhaps two or three times out a hundred.
I haven't pursued this issue until now thinking that some minor issue in Firefox or NoScript was causing it and the problem would be solved with the next update of Firefox of NoScript. This has not happened, so I turn to the community for aid in tracking down and fixing this issue.
In NoScript's preferences "Automatically Reload Each Page" and "This Tab Only" are selected. Deselecting either or both, restarting Firefox, then reselecting either or both does not improve the situation.
Any tips or clues as to how I can track this problem down and fix it would be most appreciated.
