clearclick

Thank you for the forum. Today when I tried to access my bank account which I've done for the last 8 or so years I get a "clearclick" warning. I called the bank because it was the first time I had tried to log into their new webpage but they told me the problem was mine, not theirs. I told them I've never had any trouble until the new webpage. They insist it's my problem...which I'm open to but I don't know what to do about it.

Please reproduce the problem and submit the ClearClick report (if you haven't already) and post the report ID here.

I'm not sure what I'm suppose to do. Should I have both boxes checked where the clearclick warning says "untrusted", "trusted"? Should I click on the link within the warning box and cycle through so I can access my bank? While I don't write bounced checks I do like to keep track of what is going on in case there is a mistake. Is this a problem that is going to take a long time to fix? Am I suppose to add the address to the "whitelist"?

Yes, it appears I'm dumb as a rock in some areas...thankfully there is the forum.

In this case all you can do atm is wait for Giorgio to look at the report and tell you whether it's false positive or real threat.

While I'm trying to fix it in the ClearClick algorithm, you can open about:config and add https://www.iccuonline.com/ to your clearclick.exceptions preference value.

Ok, I appreciate the help and I absolutely love not seeing ads but I gotta tell yah I don't know what I'm doing or even how to get to the place to put in the www thing. Ack! I'll just wait and see if it gets fixed. If you could just let me know what your conclusion is that would be helpful. In the meantime I'll just wait.

The conclusion has already been stated, I can try to say it in simpler terms if that's helpful: Giorgio thinks your ClearClick warning is a false positive and that the real fix for this case is that ClearClick itself needs tweaking. So this is a NoScript problem. Thanks for the report

The address is already in my exceptions whitelist and it still doesn't work.

Is there a time frame on how long it takes to fix the issue?

As it's a false positive, no, not really. How about 1 month divided by the cost of NoScript in USD? :D

You indicated that it's breaking the page, though? When you have a ClearClick warning, you should be able to to tell it to unlock the object (since Giorgio has confirmed that it is a false positive). And you also indicated that you've added the site to your exception list. So perhaps something else is breaking the page?

Does the page still break if you disable ClearClick altogether (Options-Advanced-ClearClick)? Don't leave it switched off, by the way; it's an important protection.

Since that didn't work, maybe also try adding a * on the end of that entry (to make that entry look like this):

Code: Select all

https://www.iccuonline.com/*
(this would match all pages on https://www.iccuonline.com instead of only its homepage)
