Sorry if this has been raised and answered before--I did look around a bit before posting-- but If I disallow Youtube I only get the message to activate JS or get latest Flash. I don't get the Placeholders. Why don't I see them? What, if anything, can I do to get them? And how, in general, for other sites, can I get them? I do see them sometimes, but not sure what, in particular, makes them appear. Thanks.

You can't get placeholder for Flash objects which aren't there yet.
Many web sites create their Flash object on the fly using Javascript, therefore you won't see the Flash object (or its placeholder, if you've got NoScript Options|Plugins|Apply these restrictions to trusted sites as well AKA "FlashBlock mode" checked) until you allow Javascript.

OK. I Figured out you meant that "Apply these restrictions to trusted sites as well "
needs to be checked in order for placeholders to appear. (You seemed to be saying just the opposite. But that wouldn't make sense, since, by default, I don't believe it's checked) I did that and voila, I get the placeholder on YTube. Thanks.
