"Make temporary permissions permanent" - GONE

My NoScript updates automatically. But for several updates, I have still not seen the above choice. I can revoke temporary permissions, but haven't been able to make them permanent for a long time now.
I think something is subtracting this option. I'd suggest you make it impossible to subtract from peoples' NoScript in their browser.
The whole thing feels very nefarious to me.
NoScript wouldn't have been necessary if there were no bad people out there. But since your add-on works so well, it shouldn't be surprising that bad people will attack IT as well.
PLEASE do something about this!

This is normally controlled under Options-Appearance, where there is a checkbox to decide whether you want this option to appear on the menu. And I can confirm that this checkbox still exists in version 2.6.9.37rc2.
If you're not seeing that checkbox, or if it doesn't take effect, can you try creating a second
profile, installing NoScript in that, and try to reproduce the problem?

Moving to NoScript Support, because this is almost certainly not a NoScript bug.

Although I too
need that menu item, the fact that Giorgio made it customizable means that not everyone wants it. -1 on that basis.

Yes, "something" is either messing with your settings or hiding/removing that menu item directly. If you have reason to believe it's "nefarious", scan your system for malware per
General Troubleshooting Instructions #2 before trying any other troubleshooting steps. Note that NoScript only runs with the privileges of the browser itself, so it can't be expected to be able to defend itself against malware. It's meant to prevent/mitigate threats from websites, not threats from anything privileged. And yes "bad people" can and do attack NS (search the forums if you care), but in these cases the victims have much bigger problems than NoScript being tampered...

The only thing "we" can and will do about it atm is help you troubleshoot it until it's solved for you. How does that sound?
