I had to completely disable NoScript.
The script became repeatedly unresponsive at line 338 of ScriptSurrogate.js. Even if I told Firefox to "stop script" this message came up repeatedly and apparently endlessly.

That's weird, especially so since line 338 of ScriptSurrogate.js is empty.
Have you got any non-standard Surrogate Script?
Does it happen on a specific web page?
Does the problem persist even if you disable all the other extensions except NoScript?
Does downgradingto a previous version actually help?
