I allow domains to run scripts. The problem is that many domain scripts are now being used like html marquee or photo galleries.

It's impossible to know ahead of time - before I visit a new site - if javascript is going to be used for something useful or simply used to create annoying things that move.

My request is that there's there an new right-click option "Pause scripts"

Allow scripts globally
Revoke temporary permissions
Make page permissions permanent
Pause scripts

I think it would be useful for lots of people since it's almost mandatory to allow domains to run scripts. If you don't so many sites break.

Don't, until you see the list in the NoScript menu. That is the reason for NoScript's default-deny policy, so that you can examine the source first. Globally allowing is dangerous.

True. Use "temporarily allow" at new sites, until you decide whether they should be added to your whitelist.

"Revoke temporary permissions" works at the site you cited, and would work anywhere else. You can also forbid any script that you have already whitelisted, just by clicking NS menu > "Forbid allowedscript.com".

Most users allow on a per-site basis. Sites that they visit frequently and that they trust are whitelisted, so they don't have to deal with the scripting issue at the trusted sites any more.

Third-party scripts can (and often should) be disallowed even when you allow the site you are on. You can allow trustedsite.com while still not allowing adagency.com, dataminer.com, trackingsnoop.com, haxxers.cn, etc. Globally allowing scripting discards this protection.

It could be relevant and might help the OP get the answer because otherwise you know what scripts are there when NoScript tells you after the page is loaded and they are already disabled to ensure they don't do any harm until you allow them, so...

I didn't read it that way, but I could be wrong. I read that the OP just wants to "pause" all scripts on the page, if you look at his proposed menu. Nothing about discriminating among scripts from the same site, as in the thread you linked (which was a good one, but looks like it's not in the plans).

"Pausing" all scripts on the page is no different from forbidding them, since you can forbid/allow/forbid/alllow etc. as many times as you want with just a click or two of the mouse.

btw, this is another 3-month-old post out of the "never replied" file, so I think it's moot.
Just don't want anyone with any remotely reasonable question to feel ignored.
