gmail suddenly freaking out

Post by Jojer »

Image

I have reinstalled firefox but still get this issue in gmail on firefox all of a sudden. I am not sure if it is normal or what.

I scanned for viruses but found nothing. My IE seemed to have been goofed up by some kind of malware.

Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Given that IE is also having issues, I'd suspect that NoScript is doing right in blocking things.

What virus scan did you use?

Download the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware & run a scan with that.

What version of NoScript are you running?

Thinking it may actually have something to do with the ajax.googleapis.com issue of late?
Install the development build of NoScript, then check your whitelist & see if ajax.googleapis.com shows in there, then see if the issue persists.

(Still can't hurt to run the MBAM scan.)

All right great. Thank you so much. Yes, it is the ajax issue. I had not allowed requests to ajax, then when I did allow them for some reason, not much after is when all this happened. I blocked it again and all is well!

It doesn't sound like all is well...requests to Google APIs should not trigger ABE. You might still have malware issues.

Well someone (I think GµårÐïåñ) has said that this kind of thing can be the result of being online and making net requests while your computer/router is in the middle of a DHCP lease reset... in this case, (at most) a restart of the browser once the connection reset is done should fix the problem I would think?

But yeah if it's persistent then it's probably not that, it could be malware.
