[Resolved] Whitelist - User Defined & Internal?

Post by 8-bit »

Quick question...

When I see something like this in the release notes:

x Default whitelist maintenance: removed prototypejs.org,
cdnjs.cloudflare.com; restored maps.googleapis.com

but dont see maps.googleapis.com on the whitelist in preferences, does this indicate that the preferences whitelist is only user defined, and that NoScript has an "internal"(about:config or hidden) whitelist as well?

Just curious as I didn't see maps.googleapis.com in the Preferences whitelist after I updated.

Many Thanks...

It's added only for those who already had ajax.googleapis.com whitelisted and who hadn't set noscript.allowWhitelistUpdates to false

Whitelist functionality still seems to be broken

Post by 8-bit »

I could be wrong, but I just updated to the official 2.6.9.30 release and the whitelisting problem still persists:

- I have noscript.AllowWhitelistUpdates in about:config set to true

- maps.googleapis.com has not been added to my whitelist
- about:pocket-save was not added to my whitelist. (to further clear things up is it "save" or "saved"? I don't use pocket but wanted to report this anyway.
- about:pocket-signup was correctly added to my whitelist.
- ajax.googleapis.com is not on my whitelist but was supposed to be added in 2.6.9.28 (no mention of it being removed in the release notes for .29 or .30 so I assume it is supposed to be there.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Merging with your other thread and marking it as Reopened.

The about:pocket-saved not being added for people who didn't ever have NoScript 2.6.9.30rc4 is a known issue and has been reported elsewhere.

Did you ever remove googleapis.com from your default whitelist? If so, that is all as expected.

Yes, googleapis.com is gone. The only google related item in my whitelist is googlevideo.com (which is required for YouTube functionality.)

So you are saying that my whitelist is correct except for the about:pocket-saved issue?

I think you can safely mark this thread as resolved. Again, thanks...
