Can't allow scripts

When I access the Apple site using Firefox 38.0.5 and NoScript 2.6.9.29, I get a message that Javascript is not enabled. The "Scripts Currently Forbidden" bar is present and when I select "Options" I see "Allow
http://www.apple.com" is grayed out. Hovering the cursor gives me the message "Scripts currently forbidden". This behavior started after NoScript 2.6.9.28 was installed. Is there any solution?

Please check
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20969 to see if it's a similar problem.
If not, please check the Browser Console (⌘-Shift-J) when this happens for any NoScript related messages and post them here.
(usually related messages start with either "[NoScript" or "[ABE]". if you don't know what's related, turn off CSS warnings and post everything else you see)

The other topic didn't seem to apply: when I disable NoScript, things seem to work o.k.
Here's the log from another site. For this site, the grayed out message is "allow

I didn't see any messages starting with [NoScrpt or [ABE}, however hovering over the third message showed a box "chrome://noscript/content/ScriptSurrogate.js"

This is a contradictory statement...
What does your NoScript Options > Advanced > HTTPS > Permissions settings look like ?

Wording on the form is: "Forbid active web content unless it comes from a secure (HTTPS) connection:"
and in the box the choice is:
" using a proxy (recommended for Tor)"
The box "Allow HTTPS scripts globally on HTTPS documents" is not checked.

So, those are both plain HTTP sites you have trouble with... so are you using a proxy?

Please try setting that to "Never" instead anyway, to check if NoScript mistakenly thinks you're on a proxy.

That seems to work. I don't see the "Scripts currently forbidden" bar and the sites look normal.

I'm not sure how NoScript tries to detect if you're running a proxy. If you definitely aren't, though, then this does sound like a bug.
Why did you have it set to require HTTPS when using a proxy? It's not the default. Do you use Tor?

I don't use Tor.
I'm not sure how the HTTPS setting got set. I've used NoScript since November 2008, version 1.8.4.1. This was two computers ago and I've migrated from each computer to the next. I keep track of some things, but looking over my records, I don't find any mention of changing settings. That's not to say I didn't change anything, I just can't find confirmation that I did.
