Re: updates in FF 38.06
Appears to be working here.
What are you trying to update?
Which link?
URL?
Have you tried downloading the file & installing locally?

Re: updates in FF 38.06
I was attempting to update NoScript to 2.6.9.27 from within FF Add-ons Manager and received the aforementioned message. I have since downloaded and installed the update from a third-party site.
I would like to be able to use the add-on manager as I have since I began using NoScript many years ago. The 'problem' just started to happen with this latest update attempt. Any assist would be much appreciated.

Re: updates in FF 38.06
Addons manager tries to download from AMO. Maybe AMO is temporarily down, try again in a couple hours?
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

Re: updates in FF 38.06
(Why would AMO need to connect to noscript.net, but then who knows what mysteries lurk at AMO? [noscript, flashgot, informaction all resolve to the same IP, as you might expect.])

Re: updates in FF 38.06
(At this point in time, it could be signed, with a valid signature - by anyone, & FF will allow the install. Actually, trying to think... at this point in time, it might be totally irrelevant whether an extension is signed, a valid signature or not, or not signed at all, & I'm pretty sure that any & all variations will install. So, at the moment, "signing" is a total joke.)

Re: updates in FF 38.06
Thanks for the replies.
Nothing has changed. Updating from within FF 38.01 Add-ons Manager still does not complete. Same message is returned.
Hopefully someone will come up with an amazingly easy (and obvious) fix.

Re: updates in FF 38.06
As a test, create a new, clean Profile.
Then go & see if NoScript installs.
If it still doesn't work, the disable all Plugins in that Profile & try again.

Thanks (therube), will give your suggestion a try and get back to you.

Re: updates in FF 38.06
I'd try these steps before doing new profile:
Remove (not disable) NoScript, restart Firefox, re-install NoScript from an official source:
AMO or https://noscript.net/
It's possible that the NoScript from wherever you installed it contains an invalid updateURL.
It could also be an Add-Ons Manager corruption, try to follow the steps outlined in this article?

Re: updates in FF 38.06
Thanks ( barbaz ),
I downloaded from third party site only after it would not install from within AOM - and - it would not install directly from the install page at noscript.
I will try what you suggested, re: removing noscript and try to reinstall.
Thanks, again.

Re: updates in FF 38.06
Updated info:
Following instructions from "barbaz" I attempted to re-install NoScript but was again unable. Always same message: connection failure at noscript.
So, I tried from a third party site ( MajorGeeks.com ), which has a link to 'author's site' and additional links from which to download/install.
But, even from there the NoScript download/install failed with the same message: connection failure at noscript.
Don't have a clue as to what to do next. Hopefully the wise gurus here can continue to help.
Thanks...

Re: updates in FF 38.06
When it fails, do you see anything related in the Browser Console? (Ctrl-Shift-J)
(if you don't know what's related, turn off CSS warnings and post everything else you see)
Did you try the other suggestion in my post?
(If yes, follow therube's above suggestions.)
