[RESOLVED] NoScript Drop Down Menu Truncated

On some, but not all, web pages my NoScript menu is truncated. This happens when I make a change (usually to temporarily allow some scripts) and then revoke the permissions. I then move my mouse off the menu (which closes the menu) and then bring the menu back up. The full menu then appears as expected. An example of a page where this behavior happens 100% of of the time is http://en.chessbase.com/. If I temporarily allow chessbase.com and then attempt to revoke the temporary permissions, the last item I see on the NoScript menu is Recently Blocked Sites. Moving the mouse dismisses the menu and when I bring up the NoScript menu again, all of the options appear.

I think this problem began after upgrading to Firefox 38.0. I'm currently using 38.0.1 with the same issue. I was running NoScript 2.6.9.26 RC3, but have reverted to 2.6.9.26.

I've taken the following steps to troubleshoot:
* Removed and reinstalled NoScript.
* Updated my video drivers (AMD) to most recent version.
* Reset my NoScript options.
* Deleted the Firefox extension files.
* Disabled all Firefox extensions except NoScript.

I haven't tried creating a new profile yet. I wanted to check whether or not this was a known issue before doing so. Thanks for any advice. Please let me know if you need more information.

Screenshot please?

When this happens, do you see anything related in the Browser Console? (Ctrl-Shift-J)
(if you don't know what's related, turn off CSS warnings and post everything else you see)

Here are screenshots of the truncated menu and the way it should appear:

I figured out how to disable logging of CSS warnings in the Firefox Browser Console. I haven't used the Console before and found the interface to be confusing. here doesn't seem to be way to easily export the information to a file. I chose the "select all" option and copied the result to Notepad:

Thanks.

My images also aren't displaying. Sorry for causing problems, but I give up. I've spent several hours now trying to explain the issue, but don't wish to spend any more time.

Yes, then you can PM it to a moderator (me, GµårÐïåñ, therube, or Thrawn) and we'll try post it for you. PM's to forum staff here are not spam filtered, and the spam filter is more lenient on us.

Edited your post to work around that.

As to the problem, looking at your screenshots...

- Had any Windows updates around the time it started?
- Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox

I've now registered!

Turned off hardware acceleration in Firefox (just updated to version 38.0.5 today, which didn't fix the problem). That seems to have fixed the problem with the truncated menus. Do you still want to look at the logs from when HW acceleration was enabled?

Thanks for your advice.

Let us know if you want the above posts in this thread put under your account.

No need, there will probably not be anything related.
It shouldn't hurt anything to leave HWA disabled, a lot of people (including me) run without it.
The thing with HWA in Firefox is that Mozilla doesn't have the resources to test it with as wide a variety of hardware/OS configurations as needed to represent the entire Firefox user base, so this kind of issue pops up every so often, to the point that some people consider HWA in Firefox a huge failure...

No need to convert my guest posts to my new account as far as I'm concerned. I've had other issues with HD acceleration, but they were fixed with FF v.38. Thanks again.
