[RESOLVED] login issues with vmware 2.0 webgui

System Ubuntu linux 9.04, Firefox 3.012, NoScript 1.9.6.9

when attempting to login to a vmware server, (vmware 2.0 webgui mgmt), the page
does not display and allow for a login.

I have configured:
vmware host url added to whitelist
vmware host url added to trusted sites
(this did not see any modification in behavior)

However yesterday when I disabled:
Block JAR remote resources being loaded as documents
I was able to login and use the management interface.

When I attempted again today with all of the above settings, I was unable to
login to the management application. I had to uninstall/reinstall no-script to get the
management application to start.

My question is:
Is their an optimal setting for using noscript with a vmware host running the vmware management GUI?

Most of the notes from the web basically state to disable or uninstall noscript.

That is odd since I use this myself with NS and have NO issue. All I had to do was allow the parent url and it was done. Check to make sure you don't have block on trusted sites checked, that might be why. Otherwise, can't see why.

I appreciate knowing that others were not having the vmware login issue,

I investigated further, and it appears that it is a startup issue with vmware rather then a blocking issue with noscript.
After booting the vmware host machine I have to manually kill the hostd process and restart it before it will allow logins.
Some sort of contention issue during initialization.

Glad you got it figured out dave and I am sorry that it makes you go through the extra step, that can get annoying quick. Anyway, good luck.
