Can NoScript block the "Become a Member" that scrolls up from the bottom of the CNet news story pages when ever a page is refreshed?

Can NoScript block the Previous Story/Next Story box that appears on the Wired News pages?

Thanks

Sounds like a job for surrogate script. If you would like further help please provide links to pages featuring each annoyance, one link per annoyance please.
(wrap in url tags to work around board link truncation bug, like this: )

Code: Select all

[url]link here[/url]

Thanks for offering. I am clueless about surrogate scripts, so any assistance will be welcome.

Here is the CNet url... The fly-in appears on just about every page on their site.

http://www.cnet.com

The Wired site is no longer a problem. It looks like it went away in their recent re-design.

There is a simpler solution: you won't get the popup if you don't allow the cbsistatic.com domain. Do you really need it?

If you do, then this surrogate seems to work:

Code: Select all

window.CnetPageVars = {};
You'll need to use about:config to set it up, though; let me know if you want instructions.
