Why does mobile.twitter.com require scripting?

Anyone know why Twitter requires scripting just to read the mobile page? I always end up at this page without scripting: https://mobile.twitter.com/signup/nojs

Is there a reason there is no surrogate script, or has one just not been built yet?

Try
NoScript Options > Advanced > Untrusted, check "Forbid META redirections inside <NOSCRIPT> elements"
?

The regular site seems to work (to an extent) without JavaScript :D
