[RESOLVED] 2.6.9.7 breaks websites

Post by mmguardiani »

Update 2.6.9.7 breaks an inordinate number of websites even after all scripts are allowed to run on the page. Sorry, I can't give any specific URLs as they are all security related such as my brokerage account in ameriprise.com.

2.6.9.6 appears to work correctly.

No joy... But I did find a public site that is a good example....

http://superstore.wnd.com/Dump-Boehner-Campaign

Clicking on "Add to cart" fails even if all scripts have been enabled. 2.6.9.6 works without issue here.

http://www.myfreefarm.de/
https://gomail.o2online.de/
second lvl domains are temp whitelist, FF 3.6.28
sites worked before auto update to 2.6.9.7 (most recent) and now keep asking to activate javascript.
i kept the settings pretty much default, with modifies untrusted list, so it seems to be something
between noscript and -some- js functionality.

how safe are the beta thingies?

best regards, H.

I get the impression that the 'beta thingies' are just as reliable as the 'release' thingies, and that the release channel exists to 1) help appease users who complain NS updates too frequently and 2) not clog AMO with huge numbers of full review requests
So you should be fine switching to the 'beta thingies' of NoScript
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

I, too, wanted to report that the listed version would not allow any websites to load/run scripts after temporarily allowing them.

Examples:
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

Followed the directions posted above and updated to 2.6.9.8 which seems to have fixed the issue.
