[RESOLVED] 'nother day, 'nother broken noscript

FF 33.0.1, noscript 2.6.9.3
this is the best I can do

it was fine in 28. I've played with this for 4 or 5 days and getting frustrated because I keep having to re-install v 28.
This time I uninstalled no script before moving to the upgrade. It didn't help. The icon disappears and the only way I can see it is to allow meassages to appear at the bottom. The problem is they aren't at the bottom.
I've also tried stepping through upgrades and going from 28 to 29 then to 30. But anything above v28 breaks my noscript.
When I customize and select view, there is no icon to move anywhere.
I've tried playing with the addon bar, status bar, adding height to the bar and it ends up with 2 options: a missing noscript icon or this bar above the bottom bar.
Maybe someone has an idea of something I haven't tried yet.
If not, I guess it is back to version 28
again.

I've had some luck getting Fx 31 ESR to be usable (with NS) in a VM (starting with no profile, letting it auto-generate a clean one).
What extensions do you have installed?

This was my adventure with Noscript and 31 ESR
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20195.
I won't install a VM on my husband's computer. If needs be, I'll remove FF and let him use Palemoon which doesn't seem to have a problem.
Extensions are the same as my two computers: Classic Theme Restorer, AdBlockPlus, Better Privacy, Cookie Culler, Noscript, Nosquint, and Webmail AdBlocker. I did add back Status-4-evar to see if I could make the icon appear.
Thanks for the ideas. Perhaps if I create a new user, starting with version 28 and work from there.

I wasn't suggesting you create another VM. I was gonna see if I could reproduce the issue myself starting from a clean profile with your extensions installed.
Off to go do that..

Well, installing all the extensions you listed, in Fx 33.0.1 on Linux64, I'm not having that issue...
I see only one bottom toolbar in your screenshot, but you have 2 add-ons that put one...
If you select to show all available bars (right-click in either the bottom toolbar or the tab bar where there isn't a tab), does the NS icon come back somewhere?
What if you disable the theme you're using, and try using just the default theme + Classic Theme Restorer (keeping all your extensions)?
If none of that helps, maybe completely shut down Fx, **backup the entire profile**, then move localstore.rdf elsewhere (this resets your toolbar customizations), and see if then, selecting to show all available bars, you see the NoScript icon?
(if that fails, completely shut down Fx and put it back)
(Of course, I'm configuring those extensions the way I personally would choose to set them, which may be different from your settings... but I think that's not likely to matter here.)

I also noticed that unlike Fx 28, Customize doesn't automatically display all toolbars first...

I fixed it, finally!
First I uninstalled noscript and status-4-evar. Then I rebooted. When I fired up FF, I changed back to the default theme.
I installed noscript and got the icon immediately at the top. All I had to do was move it to the bottom then work on getting the blocked messages not to show.
I changed back to the default theme and the icon is at the bottom exactly where it is supposed to be. Phew.
I have one more computer to work on. It is still running FF 28 and Palemoon 24. My husband uses this daily so I wanted to be sure he had a usable browser. I'll start by changing the theme to the default, updating FF and see what happens.
