Firefox won't enable javascript

Using Firefox with Noscript, javascript was disabled for everything.
javascript.enable was yes, every javascript entry was yes, none false.
Cleared all cookies and caches.
Set Allow all scripts globally.
Still no javascript.
Finally removed NoScript.
Removed all extensions, plug-ins from Firefox.
Still no javascript on i.e. ebay.
So apparently NoScript not causing?
Have had to abandon FireFox, go to Chrome. Now vulnerable.
AdBlockPlus current version is installed but I'm pretty sure along the above I disabled it.
Firefox and NoScript verified current versions.

How are you determining that?
What does
http://isjavascriptenabled.com/ say your JavaScript status is?

http://isjavascriptenabled.com/
says "yes javascript in enabled." I had found everything enabled in about:config
I forgot to add to my original question that many maybe all major websites including noscript.com had become labelled "untrusted" even though they are in the whitelist.
Very peculiar and pretty worrisome occurrence.

As a test, create a new, clean Profile.
Install only NoScript.
See if that works.
After that ... figure out what's wrong with your existing Profile

.

Firefox 32.0.3
Uninstalled incl trashed Firefox folder in Library/Application Support
Redownloaded and installed Firefox
Quite obviously complete new profile
isjavascriptenabled.com/ says YES
Another site running it says, "Your JavaScript is enabled!"
Many major sites do open fine
Clicking links in both cnbc.com and
http://www.nws.noaa.gov I get the message:
"Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (javascript) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context."
About:config search for javascript says javascript.enabled is true
All javascript are either true or a number except the following are false:
...discardSystemSource
...options.mem.log
...options.mem.notify
...options.strict
Restarted in Safe Mode
"All add-ons have been disabled by safe mode."
javascript still not running. The same links in cnbc.com and nws.noaa.gov give the same above error message about javascript.
isjavascriptenabled.com/ says YES

In this test NoScript has not been involved in any way.
I'd appreciate if you can fix this
But I think this is a Mozilla problem so I'm taking it to them.
I just can't use Firefox when it won't run javascript on these well known trusted sites.
Will use Chrome until someone reports Firefox is fixed.

Oh, you're talking about javascript: *URLs*, not JavaScript in general. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
That will *never* be fixed in Firefox. The workaround is to use NoScript and set the NS option to allow bookmarklets (should be set by default I think), and if you need to type javascript URLs in the address bar, set the noscript.allowURLBarJS pref to true.
(FWIW, I went to the weather.gov site with NoScript enabled, Temp-Allowed weather.gov, and clicked the "Location Help" javascript link, and it worked, but I use SeaMonkey not Firefox.)

What links in particular?

I think I've got it, just my suspicion:
Firefox's verification of SSL certificates is suddenly returning false negatives, and Firefox won't run js on sites with unverified certificates.
