Redirect Video downloaded instead of Original

FlashGot shows the correct size for the video (250mb), but when you select it for download, a much smaller video is downloaded. The small video turns out to be a "stub" that tells you "This video has been moved to another website". I suspect that this may mean the video is actually coming from the other website, but that FlashGot is not sending the proper authorization (unlike the original website which is able to play the video).

One solution would seem to be to grab and save the video directly as it's played by the browser, rather than downloading it separately, as this would avoid sending a separate request to the other website (which apparently isn't being sent correctly). (Even the "autostart all downloads" option sends a separate request rather than just grabbing the existing streams, right?)

I tried to post the URL 5 times but your "spam filter" blocked it (which wipes out the entire post BTW so it's gone when you hit "back"). How can I provide the URL?

Put it into a

Code: Select all

 block.

What download manager are you using?
Sometimes browser built-in (or DownThemAll) is able to get around "double request" issues.

The code tag is not solving the problem; it's still blocked by your "antispam" filter.

I'm using the "Browser builtin" download manager, FF ESR 24.8.1

I'd sure like to help improve the product but you'll have to provide a way to post the URL.

You could try breaking the URL eg by replacing http with hxxp, or adding spaces. Or you can register, which might be enough. If all else fails, you can send a private message to a moderator and we can post it for you.
