[RESOLVED] Revoke Temporary request
[RESOLVED] Revoke Temporary request
Please see Topic viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20057
I would like to see NoScript enhancement to allow me to Revoke Temp on current tab and not reset all other background tabs.
I usually run 10 tabs open. Each with Temp Allow settings. For security I would like to be able to Revoke Temp on each tab individually.
Without resetting all tabs to default. I have tried all tips in 5.2 sans the affect I'm seeking. If I Revoke on any tab all tabs are set to default.
Thank you for your consideration.

Re: Revoke Temporary request
You can revoke individual sites, if that helps. If they're temporary, they'll show up on the menu in italics and you can forbid them.

Looking for an enhancement to NoScript
I want to be able to Revoke Temp Permission per tab. Not have Revoke Temp Permission reset all tabs to default
Thank you
I've already been admonished for cross posting. I posted to NoScript Support and was told ... what I want is not available.
So I posted to Development and enhancement to request an enhancement to NoScript.
I will reply to Support and explain that I am not cross posting my support issue.
I will in future ask if I'm allowed to request an enhancement to NoScript to satisfy the cross posting monitor.
Respectfully submitted

Re: Revoke Temporary request
The thing is, once sites are on the whitelist, they are - deliberately - not associated in any way with the tab where they were allowed. There is no concept of "revoke everything that was allowed on this tab", because there is no concept of "site X was allowed on this tab".
Theoretically Giorgio could introduce an option to revoke any temporary permissions that are currently showing on the menu. Feasible, but it might be seen as clutter. It's up to him.

I do not deviate from the default whitelist as I browse sandboxed. Any whitelisting I do while sandboxed is dumped.Thrawn wrote: Theoretically Giorgio could introduce an option to revoke any temporary permissions that are currently showing on the menu. Re: Revoke Temporary request
? I don't see the relevance of this to your feature request, or to my comment. I was suggesting that it would be possible to have a 'Revoke all temporary permissions this page' option that would be the opposite of 'Temporarily allow all this page': it would revoke all temporary permissions currently visible on the menu. Doesn't have anything to do with wiping a sandbox when the browser is closed.bjm_ wrote:I do not deviate from the default whitelist as I browse sandboxed. Good spot by barbaz; there are some interesting effects of the brave new world of recent Firefox script control.

It's relevant because he/she can't set ABE rules for per-site permissions.Thrawn wrote:? I don't see the relevance of this to your feature request,bjm_ wrote:I do not deviate from the default whitelist as I browse sandboxed. Any whitelisting I do while sandboxed is dumped.
Personally, I don't think that's worth it given that NS has the option of sticky menu.Thrawn wrote:I was suggesting that it would be possible to have a 'Revoke all temporary permissions this page' option that would be the opposite of 'Temporarily allow all this page': it would revoke all temporary permissions currently visible on the menu.

I agree. It would be extra clutter that not many people would use. Giorgio's call, though, of course.Personally, I don't think that's worth it given that NS has the option of sticky menu.Thrawn wrote:I was suggesting that it would be possible to have a 'Revoke all temporary permissions this page' option...

The latest build got me exactly what I needed.
User-facing "Reload the current tab only" option (in the "General" tab).

Revoke temp permission is still Revoking on all open tabs. Not just the tab I am prompting Revoke Temp.
My other open tabs are not reloading but, temp permission are changing.
I guess what I want is not possible. As I want to Revoke per tab. The same way I may Temp Allow per tab.
The new sub option does work by only reloading the current tab....
Seems, I want discrete tab control and I haven't found a way to do that.
If I may Temp Allow per tab. I should be able to Revoke per tab.
Not a deal breaker by any means. I won't browse wo NS
Reload the current tab is a big help to me
Again, much thanks

You may Allow per tab.
You may have it set to not automatically reload other affected tabs, but when you Allow, it again affects all tabs of the same domain, whether reloaded or not. (Now when it affects you in a different tab is a different situation.)

When I Revoke Temporary Permissions it affects all open tabs ~ different domains. That's okay...therube wrote:> I want to Revoke per tab. The same way I may Temp Allow per tab.

I work around that by granular Forbid via sticky menu.
The last build got me exactly what I needed.
