Every time I launch Firefox and click anywhere on a page, a new instance of Firefox opens which appears to contain links to Adware. In the upper right of the window is the text "Ads By Plus-HD-4.8c" and over 50% of the links have this reference in them.

One example that contains Plus in the link is: https://nps.noproblemppc.com/npsb/logic ... 2511000000

Two examples of the other links is: https://secure.ciuvo.com/media/bookmark ... row.min.js AND http://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js.

Try Safe Mode.
(Help | Restart with addons disabled)

Try a new, clean Profile.

In any case, remove the malware you've picked up.
Try the free version of Malwarebytes Antimalware.

SpyHunter, which the above [now deleted post] seems to lead you to...
SpyHunter by Enigma Software Group (ESG) is a program that was previously listed as a rogue product on the Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Products List because of the company's history of employing aggressive and deceptive advertising. It has since been delisted but Enigma still engages in deceptive advertising which violates several consumer protection laws in many states. In my opinion it is a dubious program which is not very effective compared to others with a proven track record and I would not trust all the detections provided by its scanning engine. ...

@therube, based on your latest reply I've removed that post as spam (also note it bumped a 3-month-old thread).
ETA your edit broke the link, I think it was this: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ ... try3229804
