Georgio
Will you therefore be suspending further activity/reponses on the MozallaZine NoScript 1.9 thread, to encourage/force people to register/post here?

I'll do it when I'm comfortable with the administration tools (it's my first forum), and probably before next release.
BTW, I don't mean to force anybody. The "Support" forum is open for anonymous posting (and I can already see spam come through).

Wow, that *was* a surprise!

And *fast*, too... you'd think Maone 2.0 would have been released in six weeks! :D Congrats!

BTW, since the only language choice was "British English", I must start labouring to honour their spellings. Do you need an EN-US translator (translatour?)

I thought this would be an improvement over the mozillazine thread but it's turning out not to be.

I used to read that thread 2 or 3 times daily to keep up with the latest NoScript problems and solutions which taught me more about security than anything else I've ever read but here it's scattered all over the place. Also, I'd know instantly when there was a new development version but here, short of clicking the redirect link on the main page, there isn't an easy way. At least, not that I see.

These aren't complaints, just my opinions.

Ah well, can't please everyone all the time, right? :D

@ vyper:

Try the RSS feed, or bookmark a search for Giorgio's posts :)

We could make a sticky thread, "New Development Build Announcements", to, uh, announce when there's a new dev build, but you'd still have to click it to read it. I don't see that that's saving any clicks versus just clicking the existing link. Perhaps Giorgio could just modify the subtitle,
Please install and test latest development build "X.X.X.X" before reporting any issue or bug
or the title,
"NoScript Development Build X.X.X.X"
when there is a new one available, which would constitute a high-visibility announcement to the entire forum, though one hates to ask him to increase his taskload.

Giorgio?

(I'm moving this split to NS Dev and retitling)

A simple RSS feed of all site will keep abreast of all the posts/topics on the whole site. I don't miss a thing and I don't have to hunt for anything. Some refinement will come with time when Giorgio has more time but I don't see the need for him to have to go super overboard providing too many "look at me" or "look at me now" posts, ultimately his call.

Absolutely Giorgio's call (notice the question to him at the end? :). btw, this issue was moved to NS Development.

Not everyone uses RSS. I believe they too have been vectors for infections (I think GM said so at least once; not going to research a link now.)

Hope you slept well and awoke refreshed today!

Yeah I saw the question to him :D I was just putting my two cents in for perspective.
Yeah I saw the splitter post, it helps with specifics to that issue, nice.
Yes I know not everyone uses RSS :o but with the amount of stuff I keep an eye on and actively maintain, it would be impossible without it :geek:
Not really sleep too well, I don't which thread but I posted that I ended up being so tired I couldn't sleep and woke up like 5 am, took a shower, got dressed, did some prep over a cup of coffee and didn't get back till like 5 ish (PST). Next week beginning with tomorrow isn't going to be much better either, I am going to be in for a rough month at the least. Oh well, such is life. :(
