NoScript not allowing left clicking of links?

Post by Geeter »

Hello, I'm having a problem with the latest NoScript update where it's not letting me click on certain links (like go to links in your FAQ page even) to jump to another part of a page, and some top level ones. I have to right click and open in new tab, and after disabling NoScript completely, the links work, and the problem isn't being caused by any other add-on I have. Any help would be appreciated since I don't want to uninstall NoScript to have to left click on links :(

Well that's weird.
When clicking on a link fails, is there anything related in the Browser Console? (Ctrl-Shift-J)
Does it work if you Allow Scripts Globally?
Does it work if you disable all addons except NoScript?
If you downgrade NoScript, does it work then?

Nope, not working. Even pressing the post reply on this thread didn't work- I had to right click and open once more.

This is what I got on the error console (and had a chuckle at) while clicking on the post reply. It's doing this to most of the top level links but a few sites are still working, so... no idea. I may just have to uninstall noscript and try again. T_T

And sorry, forgot to answer your question- yes, it works when I disable NoScript, and disabling all other addons except for NoScript still gives the problem.

I don't think any of those scripts are part of NoScript...

Please create a clean profile from scratch. Install only NoScript, leaving all the defaults.
Does the problem still exist? If not, NoScript is not the culprit.

Try adding back your extensions, one at a time, until you find the one that causes the issue or you have added all your extensions.
If the problem is solved even with all add-ons reinstalled, then the previous profile might be corrupted. You could try Standard Diagnostic, but probably your best bet would be completely exiting Firefox and copying only the files that contain data you care about from your old profile into the new profile and checking if it still works correctly then.

Please let us know the results, thanks.

Sounds like a conflict similar to this.
Please check whether latest development build 2.6.8.36rc1 helps, thanks.

Oh wow, it works now with the dev build! Thank you! And to the user above, I did try a clean profile install and everything and it had still given me the error, so either it's my firefox messing up or something- but it didn't happen until the update, so!

Thank you again!
