Adds on youtube

Post by Guest »

So, I got HTML5 working on youtube again by enabling googlevideo.com, but I was wondering how to get commercials back, as I haven't gotten them, and I wish to support those that I watch so they can make a living. Thanks for any help with this.

That is most likely blocked by your adblocker.

If you're sure it's NoScript blocking the ads, and you don't have the patience for trial-and-error (really, at some level there's no trick to it), try going to a Youtube video page, make sure there is nothing in your Untrusted menu there (if so, Temporarily Allow whatever's there), then "Temporarily allow all this page" repeatedly, reloading after each time, until the ads you want to see show up.

Then, if you want to make sure you have the minimal set of permissions, Forbid sites one at a time reloading after each forbid, until the ads you want to see aren't visible. If the ads disappear, each time they disappear, be sure to (Temp-)Allow the domain you last forbid (because now you know that site is needed), and keep going from there until there are no more sites left that you're unsure whether they're needed.

Once you're done click "Make page permissions permanent" so that you don't have to remember the settings or go through this again. If, after seeing the list of needed domains, you decide you want some of those allowed only when you're on youtube, see http://noscript.net/faq#qa8_10.

Hope that helps.
