Suggestion

Post by Wolfbane »

Im new to this Addon...

I just got it, testing it out. So if I write something that is already suggested or already in use but I dont know how to get it, then sorry in advance.

Now tot he suggestion.

Would it be possible to do things same way that "Adblock Plus" works.
So you have subscribe to groups.

So if I subscribe to a group called "Dedicated fans" and I trust the program to accept the group, and all the "safe" websites they trust.
That way I can let the dedicated fans and the people with more knowledge sort out who I can trust and not.

That way the people who have the knowledge and the skill to know what is safe, will just add websites to safe and not safe, and since Im in there group. I will get there settings to my NoScript plugin.

And since no group most likely will use the same websites as I do. Its a little depending on country and other interests. So possibility to add multiple "subscriber groups" and also have personal settings.

And also ofc have the option to rate the different groups. So people with knowledge can rate other groups. so the better groups will get higher rating so the people without knowledge can pick what groups to join easier.

Like I have a son who has his own computer. I would love to install this addon on his computer to. But more and less all games would stop working for him. And I dont want to show him how it works. Beacuse as soon as any game does not work for him on a website then he would just press "Allow everything on this website" and would just make the plugin useless.

But on the other hand if I joined a group "Parent control" or "Popular game websites" or something like that. Then he could play all his games without problem.

Well Im gonna stop writing now, I think most people understand the basics of my suggestions. And if there is already something like this. Please point/kick me in the right direction.

Adblock Plus is probably the best tool for this job, or Web of Trust and similar crowdsourcing services. You can install NoScript in Scripts Globally Allowed mode to also gain XSS filtering, Clickjacking protection, etc.

Thrawn, current versions of ABP load filters delayed, meaning it won't block anything on (at least) any tabs loaded at browser startup, making ABP somewhat useless for security; and despite a lot of user protest, the devs have said they won't fix that.
