No-Script not showing up or working after install

Hello,

I have been using no-script for many years now and have never had this particular issue happen before. I had first disabled my no-script (just disabled the script blocking vs. removed it) to troubleshoot an issue I was having with a website even after allowing all scripts on the page. Disabling it didn't help so I went ahead and removed the no-script entirely. Still didn't resolve my issue so I knew it wasn't the no-script add-on causing the issue. From there I went ahead and reinstalled the no-script back on my Firefox browser from the 'noscript dot net' page. I restarted Firefox. And then when I went to a webpage, I noticed there were ads showing up all over the place. I also noticed there wasn't a tool bar in the bottom with that grey button on bottom right of screen you click to bring up the menu of scripts to allow or forbid. I checked my add-ons and sure enough it's showing up in there. I rebooted my entire computer too and still no go.

So where is my no-script tool bar thing and why isn't it working right (ads still showing up etc)?

If I go to customize tool bar and drag the no-script icon into the bottom tool bar it is different than what it was before -it's now a thin yellow tool bar and the no-script icon is on the far left bottom corner. The pull-up menu looks different too. It's not as "attractive" or user friendly. This can't be due to an update or such because it was fine after the most recent no-script update which took place a few days back. I have the most recent version of Firefox too and no changes were made to my browser settings at all after I uninstalled and reinstalled the no-script add-on today.

I appreciate any tips or advice anyone has to help me get my no-script back to the way it was and working right.

Thanks!
Melli

Hello again, I have resolved the issue, but not really sure what I did - lol. It either had to do with my "Classic Toolbar" add-on where I went into the options and saw the "Add-On Toolbar" was unchecked, so I checked that (no idea if it was originally checked before all of this or not). Though I am not sure why re-installing No-Script would cause a change in that Classic Toolbar add-on (doesn't make sense that it would). Or more likely it had to do with going into the No-Script options and hitting "reset" in the Appearance tab. Earlier, I had checked the "status bar" box in the Appearance tab thinking that needed to be checked, but that didn't make a difference so I hit "reset" to change it back. Even though it wasn't checked to begin with after reinstalling it and I started to have the issues, but maybe it just needed a little "reset" boost :b

Thing is, I didn't test it all out by opening up a new webpage until after I made both of those changes to the Classic Toolbar add-on and the No-Script appearance tab reset, (and I restarted Firefox for a second time after both of those changes too), so I have no idea which one resolved it, but I now have my "better looking" No-Script toolbar back and also it's working to block ads and scripts now too.

I am not sure why the no-script wasn't working to block anything and then after those changes it started working again....as far as I can tell, the changes I made to both of those add-ons were appearance related, not functionality. In any case, happy it's all back to normal now.

Admins, you can decide to delete this entire thread if you want or keep it here in case anyone else has a similar issue....not sure what the protocol is on your end if I resolved my own issue, especially since I am not entirely sure what resolved this ;)

I just opened FF27.
The (yellow) NoScript notification bar was there, but no icon, anywhere.

Customize, had a 'Revoke Temporary Permissions' icon, but no "regular" icon.
Clicked, 'Restore Default Set' & with that the NoScript icon appeared, allowing me to drag it out.

I've seen that happen any number of times - with FF.
(But since I don't use FF, rarely at best, generally don't care if it is there or not.)
