[INVALID] Firefox Version Compatibility

Greetings, all. I am sure this has been answered already, but I can't seem to find it through searching. My question is this:

What version of Firefox is required to run the latest version of NS?

I have a box with FF 12.0, and there seems to be some issues with it. Now, just to complicate the question a little more, what about the OS platform? Some earlier versions of Windoze will appear to install and run software OK, but then there are problems concerning various Windoze modules [net framework, C++, etc].

Any advice welcome, and yes, I know, I should just upgrade to a newer version of FF....

TIA,
Hillbilly Jim

NoScript supports Firefox 3.0.9 and later, so if you're having issues running it on Firefox 12, they're legitimate issues and you can ask here for help resolving them.

Because it's a browser addon without binary components, NS is platform-agnostic, i.e. it doesn't care whether your Firefox is running on Win, Mac, Linux, BSD, etc.

If, rather than resolve your issues, you want to just upgrade Firefox to the earliest version where NS "just works", I can tell you that I still sometimes use Firefox 17 ESR and haven't noticed any major issues with the latest dev build of NS...

He can't upgrade to Firefox 13 and above because it's on W2K which "allows" FX12 only.

I know the "patch" but it's beyond the capabilty of the "average user".

Thanks to everyone who responded. Now that I have done a little more troubleshooting, it seems that my problems were caused by a corrupted FF profile, and not by any issues with NS. This should really come as no surprise, as I have used the development build of NS for years without any problems. My Bad.

BTW, as far as the "unofficial" upgrade to NT5 that involves swapping out the Win32 dll, I have indeed tried that on other NT boxes, and it does work OK. However, before anyone else tries it, I would caution them that it does seem to result in a less stable Windoze box than running "pure" NT5. NT5 is bullet proof, if somewhat dated, that is why I still prefer it over 5.1 and 7. Not to mention that I am a Luddite who stubbornly resists change ;^)

Thanks again for the help.

Well, it may not appeal to a Luddite, but there are lots of very stable and secure - but still modern - Linux distributions.
