Firefox won't launch from Mac OS dock since recent Updates

I've always been able to launch a new window from the Mac OS dock. Whether Firefox is running or not. If all windows are closed, Firefox remains on, and you can click the dock icon and have it launch a new page, with your default homepage coming up. This is perfectly normal behavior on a Mac and has been for years.
Sometime within the last couple of updates, either to Firefox or NoScript, this has changed. About 75% of the time, if I do not have a web page already up in the background, clicking the Firefox icon on the dock doesn't work to launch a new window. It just does NOTHING when clicking on it. I have to right-click and choose New Window. This is annoying to have staple behavior on my Mac change when it's worked for years, and I've tracked the culprit to NoScript. I have uninstalled it as a last resort and it has 100% fixed the issue with Firefox.
Prior to uninstalling, I have done the following:
1. Run normal maintenance tools (Cocktail), cleared all perms and caches on the Mac.
2. Reset Firefox COMPLETELY per Mozilla's instructions.
3. Made sure I have the most current version of the browser and NoScript.
4. Disabled all other addons, and the problem remains.
Nothing has worked at all. I'm more than happy to contribute money for NoScript, it is an invaluable tool. But when we have nonsense bugginess going on with it causing issues with staple behavior on my Mac as described above, I feel like I'm throwing my money away.
I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8.
Is there any fix planned for this?
