I Updated to this version and firefox doesn't connect anymore.. the moment i disable it it works fine

Seems some kind of conflict with a 3rd party extension.
Could you try Standard Diagnostic keeping FlashGot enabled?

I have the same problem. Since I updated to 1.1.9.8, each time firefox starts, CPU reachs 100% and firefox doesn´t connect to any site. I have to disable flashgot and it works fine again.

(Both on FF2.)

Did you try the diagnostic as noted?
What other extensions do you have installed?

If you disable all other extensions except for FlashGot, does the issue persist?

Yes, I have tried disabling all other extensions except FlashGot and the problem pesists. Whatever I do, at the moment I enable flashgot, firefox stops working. This are my extensions:

DOM Inspector
Flashgot
Google toolbar for Firefox
Java quick starter
Tallback

Previous version of flashgot worked (almost) fine, this issue came with the update.

And if you revert back to an earlier release, http://flashgot.net/feed, the problem resolves itself?

Yeah, I've installed Flshgot 1.1.9.6 and I can enable it without any problem. I think i'll keep this version which works fine for what I want. Thanks for the help ;)

your extensions list?
Did you try Standard Diagnostic?
Do 1.1.9.6 and 1.1.9.7 make any difference?

The download manager perhaps?
He's using FlashGet|OK. Don't know what the others were using?

(And other then download manager & file paths my FlashGot log is identical.)

1.1.9.7 works fine, didn't try 1.1.9.6.
Other extensions are Java Quick Starter 1.0, Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant 1.1 and NoScript 1.9.5.
Tried disabling all of them, but the problem persists.

Yes two FlashGet's now.

If you uninstall FlashGet & install FlashGot 1.1.9.8 does the problem persist?
And if you then install a different download manager, say Orbit Downloader?
And then if you reinstall FlashGet, does the problem return?

Maybe a better idea (& this would be with 1.1.9.8 installed):
flashgot.dmsopts.JDownloader.url
Try going into about:config & change the value for that Preference item from http://localhost:9666/flashgot to (oh, I don't know) an empty string?

Restart your browser & see how it goes.
