Facebook script consume 100% CPU

Post by Ingeniso Ed »

I work fixing small PC problems. A client call because is new PC cant handle Facebook, I check and see the CPU is used even if the user do nothing in the zone where your post things.
I check several computers and that's cause a complete stuck if the processor cant handle the load, in new computers varies from 30 to 15% CPU usage, in old ones goes to 80-100%.
After explore during few hours several forums I reach here. Install NoScript solve the problem but a high cost. Can you isolate the offending script? Lots of people around the world search for "facebook 100% CPU usage" or "(browser name) high cpu usage)", only solution for now is to move to some new browsers that dont have this problem, like SuperBird.
With a combination of NoScript and FlashBlock my cpu goes to 0% in the same screen.
Other issues: Laptop and notebook and some android users claim battery consume a lot faster in facebook.
Thanks. If I can help with more data and/or test count with me. Sorry my english

If you can identify the script, then NoScript can block it using a surrogate script.

Hello. I have the famous problem: CPU goes 100% on Facebook using Firefox.
Fix is using AdBlockPlus and adding this filter: facebook.com###leftCol div.rfloat

I don't want to use AdBlock, so my question is: is it possible to add that filter in NoScript?

Thanks for attention.
