I am currently sticking with this release 1.9.3.3 of No Script as the new release 1.9.5 prevents the news videos on
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8131698.stm for example playing.

This was for both releases of Firefox, 3.11 and the new release 3.5

To view the BBC videos I have to allow Temporary access to http://127.0.0.1:1026 which I always do to view the content.

Are you using a personal firewall such as ZoneAlarm?
If so, you can try prepending the following rule to the SYSTEM ruleset in NoScript Options|Advanced|ABE:

The BBC videos (with sound) are playing fine for me.

Allowing bcc.co.uk in NoScript (and in my special case, RequestPolicy access to edgefcs.net) was sufficient to get the video playing just fine. Do you have anything affecting Flash on your profile by any chance?
