[RESOLVED] Development builds via SSL?
AdblockPlus is now secured with SSL - a good move, IMHO. Giorgio, is there a chance that NS development builds will also be available via SSL in the foreseeable future?

Comparing to Adblock Plus seems to be the way to go if you want something from Giorgio…

That was inappropriate and completely uncalled for. Please stay on topic in future posts. Thank you.dhouwn wrote:Comparing to Adblock Plus seems to be the way to go if you want something from Giorgio…![]()

Re: Development builds via SSL?
In my opinion it shows total lack of respect and appreciation for what Giorgio does and frankly to compare ANYTHING to ABP is ignorant, apples and oranges. If you like how ABP does things, you might want to ask him to provide you this invaluable service, oh wait, he can't.

Maybe you are reading something more into it then should be?
I just took it to mean something like a : wink :.
Or I could be wrong.

Then why would he have chosen Twisted Evil instead of a : wink : ?therube wrote:I just took it to mean something like a : wink :.

Re: Development builds via SSL?
I have to agree with Tom on this and you saw my response already, it comes across with a malicious connotation to it and its not appreciated, no matter how its justified, especially that more is expected from a friend of this forum like dhouwn. A wink is a wink and its available but that's not what it was, unless you are not seeing enough into it.

Re: Development builds via SSL?
Thank you. Although I personally think its unnecessary, I am sure it will be appreciated.

Drats!
I would typically load http://noscript.net/getit#devel, then download the latest #dev with LeechFTP.
LeechFTP being my every day, general purpose "downloader" <URL Snatcher (grabs URLs from Clipboard)>.
But LeechFTP does not do https:

Re: [RESOLVED] Development builds via SSL?
I've always liked that AMO served downloads over SSL (although they're a little behind the state-of-art with RC4-128). It's just one_less_opportunity for evil to happen. Thanks, Giorgio.
(although I didn't get an SSL connection: the cert was not valid before 20:54 UTC and I went there at 20:37

Re: [RESOLVED] Development builds via SSL?
Pardon my ignorance, but I don't see how that's faster than clicking a bookmark or the forum link to dev build, then clicking "download latest dev build", which *does* do https? 2 clicks - done.therube wrote:I would typically load http://noscript.net/getit#devel, then download the latest #dev with LeechFTP.
