Firefox hangs here

FF24.0 FG 1.5.5.93rc2 NS 2.6.8.4rc1 Win7x64
If I click on the linkshere, it further opens up into a page with a NS placeholder. Clicking on it makes FF hang even though the site is allowed or not. Is real media placeholder the culprit? VDH works ok here

It never hangs for me, even though the stream is not detected.
The latter I consider a bug, fixed in latest development build 1.5.5.93rc3.
Regarding the former, could you check on a clean profile with just NS & FG, latest builds?
Thank you.

Clicking on the placeholder makes it hang. No problem in other sites..

It might be specific to the RealPlayer plugin (which is well known for being very buggy).
Does it happen for you if you install the open source VLC media player with its plugin (capable of playing realmedia content)?

Yes I have VLC player latest installed , if that is what you are asking. This is just a suggestion and to be taken as such. In the same site VDH animates with the song in its list before I go thru the process of clicking the placeholder. Can some day FG bypass the process like it happens in Youtube...

The FF does flash 94rc1 even before clicking on the placeholder. But the right or left click does not work , that's why thought of bringing to your notice. The file size is not determined and lots of query marks in place. I did not want to actually click the place holder and get into a hang routine. I do have VLC player installed..

And you're saying you don't have any other add-on installed beside FG & NS? Weird...

Sorry to state that for me just clicking on the PHolder , FF hangs. I tried a no-remote profile with only NS and FG installed 2.6.8.4 and 94rc1. It still hangs..
BTW can you include detection like in Youtube before going thru the NS routine. In the above site and subsequent link , VDH animates before I click on the NS icon and am able to download thru it, only flipside being jumbled characters in the name.

Giorgio , I can confirm even with a clean profile as 2 days ago the issue is persisting. Is it unique to me....?

Yes, I cannot reproduce.
Which plugin (type and version) is handling the content, exactly?
Mine is VLC Web Plugin 2.0.6.0.

Seems like they have discontinued with the plug in , am not getting it from Firefox add on site. My main profile has that anyway. In the special profile which had only NS and FG, the moment I click on the placeholder it hangs. It does not go to the plugin stage at all...

Maybe because it's too buggy?
Why don't you just disable it and let VLC's handle the content?

No No.. Infact the special profile I created has only FG and NS. The moment I click on the placeholder Firefox hangs with the endless revolving donut. My regular profile has VLC web 2.0.6 addon enabled and even with that it is the same. The placeholder does not give way to the embedding..
I remember on an earlier occasion of a video clip FF intimating and progressing with the installation of VLC plugin . This time it is not happening....BTW I have VLC 2.1.0 x 64 and VLC 2.0.6 x 32 and all were default installations.Thanks..
