NS not prompting/blocking on YouTube

Post by 8-bit »

I'm having a bit of trouble with YouTube... (FFX 24.0)

If I am playing a video (any video), and click on one of the "related" videos in the side bar, NS does not block the new video from automatically playing. The initial video is blocked, but subsequent videos are not blocked for approval.

Can anyone repro this?

I am running the latest release version of NS: 2.6.8.2

Also running the latest versions of BetterPrivacy, Adblock Edge, Download YouTube Videos as MP4 (bad name, but works great), and RefControl.
I can't seem to isolate the problem. Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, had such behavior for months and it's not limited to when you click on related videos. But does it really matter though? From a security standpoint it's the same Flash object being called by the same site, so if you trust it once... Though a long time ago I think I didn't get this so not sure what our setups have in common that other people's may not. Most likely it's a NS settings thing.
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

In facts, as long as the player is the same there's no way the "content" being played inside has actually changed, as it's just data flow internal to the "applet" you already authorized.

That makes everything clear now: I have authorized the player (to be more precise, that *specific* player), so clicking on a different "content source" just feeds that same player new data.

Thanks for clearing that up for me...
