AVG Linkscanner and NoScript

Post by ajmackay »

Just installed AVG standalone linkscanner
On Google searches I have to allow Google.co.uk in NoScript to see Linkscanner info on searches
Anyone know if NoScript will stop AVG info showing in the Safe Surf feature (ie the feature which warns you if you go to a malicious page)

AVG LinkScanner® FAQ

(Google <& hence FF for that matter> already notify you of "malicious" sites. Though I'm sure results would be different from other vendors offerings. Google does not provide an Active Surf-Shield like protection. Looks like everyone & their brother is getting into these types of scanners.)

I used to love and recommend AVG as a free solution that was well done. However, the more they "beef" up the interface and this and that, they more I find AVG causing problems, being unstable, and just all around bad for performance and function. Pitty, they used to be so good. Now I always say, AVG has been historically good but now has issues, use with caution and expect problems. Now that being said, if they are using injected scripts to function as part of an addon, then probably NS will not block it no, otherwise WOT, Finjin and so on and so forth would stop working. However, if they are using some other post/get method to do it, then possibly. Maybe Giorgio can elaborate.
