issues with beatport.com

i've been having some issues with beatport.com recently and figured it was caused by NoScript

the site is set to bypass everything, but certain functions like the search tool and the link to access my crate fails to operate

i haven't had this issue before, so i assume this is something caused by the latest version of the plugin

any idea?

I don't know what's a "crate", but the search functionality is working fine for me as soon as I allow beatport.com and bpddn.com.
Could you try NoScript Options|Reset and, if it fails, Standard Diagnostic to rule out an extension conflict?

I believe the OP might have meant "cart", as in "shopping cart".

@cresun:
I too was able to access the site promptly when permissions were given, and even the "buy" button worked. It prompted me to register. It can't be tested further without creating an account, but if you follow Giorgio's advice, I think the problem will be solved and no further testing is necessary. Otherwise, an account could be set up, and just not buy anything. Please let us know if Giorgio's recommended steps solve the problem. Thank you.

(PS: Considering the site is mostly Flash, they did one heck of a job with it <as far as Flash not eating your computer alive>. See Flash doesn't always have to be a monster.)

i forgot to note that i already did a standard diagnostics before i started this thread; that's how i figured NoScrip was causing the problem in the first place

i tried to reset the settings, but with no changes; i'm still unable to use the search and access my crate (which is the shopping chart indeed) with NoScript enabled

the rest of the site's functions seem to be working normal tho

Could you please:
  1. Check if you've got the latest Flash Player version
  2. Retry Standard Diagnostic but keeping NoScript enabled, to rule out a multi-extension conflict

i downloaded and installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player and disabled every extension but NoScript

still no change

btw...note that the index feature (suggesting popular search terms) of the search tool works properly; it's when i type in a search term and click the magnifying glass icon that nothing happens

Ah OK, now I can reproduce it.
Investigating, will let you know ASAP.

You need to allow google-analytics.com, aside the obvious beatport.com and bpdn.com.

@ Giorgio: I was going to point the user to the FAQ about both this issue and the surrogate that is available. I searched NS FAQ and could find neither. Since GA comes up so frequently, could these be put in the FAQ?

The Hackademix post on surrogates could be trimmed to meet this need and cover both issues (the script and its surrogate). Suggestion: That post assumes that only readers geeky enough to code will bother with the surrogates. Since GA is the source of 80-90% or more of these questions and issues, providing a copy/paste code for GA, as you did at Hackademix, would let non-geeks deal with the GA issue once and for all. This might even be a support sticky or board sticky: "Problems related to Google Analytics". Formulae for writing one's own surrogates could be optional, or in a lower portion of it, so the non-geek can just copy/paste GA surrogate and be done.

What do you think?

Ah. Not being familiar with the site I too did not know to expect that.
I typed in 'marissa' but the drop down list showed no hits.

Now with GA Allowed, 'marissa' correctly takes me to 'marissa nadler'.
