[RESOLVED] Noscript and other plugins gone from bottom bar.

Hi all.
For some time Noscript and Forcastfox have not appeared in the bar at the bottom of Firefox 3, and I have to disable Noscript and restart firefox just to enable scripts. The only time it appears is when Noscript updates, and then I have full functionality. But when I restart Firefox the next time, Icons are gone and I can't do anything because all the scripts are blocked.
:/
I don't know if this is strictly a Noscript problem but it seems that it is connected.
Thank you for your help,

Please try the
General Troubleshooting Steps first. Let us know if the results, and if further assistance is needed, we'll take it from there. Thanks.

Oh, sorry for being a dimwit.
I will try this and report back.

Not a dimwit! We try, but most people don't read FAQ, etc. I've been guilty of the same thing at other forums. It took less than a minute to point you there, so the guides serve two purposes: read before posting, or quick way to provide instructions without having to say the same thing many times over. No worries!

Thank you. I did read the FAQ, and thought that if my problem wasn't there, I should post here.
Well, it worked this time.
I am wondering if this error is the result of me killing firefox numerous times through the task manager when it failed to shut down after I clicked the X button. They need to change that...
I hope this works.
Farewell,

I
never have that problem. Are you using any extensions?

That's usually caused by an extension conflict or problematic extension. If you mean the Firefox developers, I doubt "they" can fix your problem.

Change what? Not shutting down from clicking the X? Never heard of that problem.
Note that stopping any process via Task Manager Processes is risky. You get a warning: "The process will not be able to save its state" etc. It is similar to unplugging your computer to shut it down instead of using the Windows Shutdown menu command. The latter does a lot of saving of settings, etc. before shutting down, while if you do a "hard shutdown", this can't happen, and data can be lost, including configuration data. If you are able to stop it via Task Manager Applications, that is a little safer, but still may carry some risk.
So the question is: Why won't Fx close when you click the X? Some process -- some add-on, probably -- is not stopping. Please try the
Standard Diagnostic. What you are describing is a significant issue, and will just lead to more and more problems, probably more and more serious, if not diagnosed and fixed soon. It will take a few minutes to do the diagnostic process, but will save you many hours of frustration later, I'm sure. Let us know the results. GL.

Alan Baxter posted while I was composing and posting. Great minds think alike.

Hmm. It looks like it's the AVG plugin that is causing it. Upon finding this, I tried to start up AVG only to find that it no longer existed and all the links were broken.
I'm reinstalling right now...
My computer does strange things all the time. This was probably my doing and I forgot about it. I'll admit it, I like screwing with Windows.
This is probably all the help I need. Thanks, my browser is fully functional now.
I would say this issue is resolved.
