Is it still working okay?

Post by Orrymain »

I've been realizing the last couple of weeks that I haven't had an 'untrusted' site show up at all. My icon has been steady at trusted sites. This seems odd considering all the surfing I do. When I right click, my options are to forbid the page, allow scripts globally (so I know that's not on because if I click on it I get the message that asks me if I really want to do it and of course I don't), and the basic options. I don't know if I clicked on something recently I shouldn't have or if by a fluke every single web page I've been to hasn't had anything to be 'distrusted'. Still, it's alarming. I've never gone so long while surfing so much and not had a single untrusted page. So -- I'm just a little concerned. It is updated to the latest version (just updated again this morning).

I'm not a programmer -- just an avid surfer so please keep that in mind with your responses. Do you think something is askew?

OH and I have had that yellow box warning a few times that I get so I know that cross referencing or whatever it is thing is working.

Have you enabled 'Temporarily allow top-level sites by default'?

The yellow notification at the bottom of the page generally indicates that scripts are being blocked.

No, I haven't and I just verified it wasn't checked by mistake. I've never had a yellow indicator. I just always have the S symbol in the tray and it being red for untrusted or partially for partial. Like I said, though, the last 2 to 3 weeks it's always just clear like everything is trusted. It's very strange.

And you are browsing to sites that you haven't visited before, ones that aren't in your whitelist?

Yes ... I"ve actually intentionally tried to go to places where I thought for sure I'd get a message or that would be untrusted ... nothing. I just went to a bunch of new questionable sites in my nind and I finally got one partially untrusted site. I guess it's working but it still seems odd. Only one of these places even gave me the partially untrusted sign. Weird.

Can you try a new profile and see what it does?

I don't think I want to mess with profiles; gets too confusing. Of course, I could uninstall and reinstall but that's such a pain too. I don't know though -- all this surfing I'm doing at weird places and just that one partial flag.
