Website hang.

Today I just typed msn.in at the address bar ,and witnessed a literal hang (No revolving circles ,and FF not responding at the title bar) for a few seconds say 10.At the moment even other tabs and windows became inactive.

Tried a clean profile. NO ISSUES.

The standard diagnostic.
1.Disabled FG and NS1.9.3.5. NO ISSUES.

2.Enabled only FG1.8.7. Problem repeats.

Selection from bookmarks too reacts slowly.

Other addons ABP , Download A ,Java , DWH ,Show IP ,Freecorder

Do you mean FlashGot 1.8.7? I can't tell for sure. You're using too many abbreviations for a support question. I'll assume you mean FlashGot. You seem to be saying this problem persists with NoScript disabled. In that case it's not a NoScript issue. Would you like me to move this to FlashGot support for you?

Assuming you mean FlashGot, I'll say it works for me, nagan. You're using an old version of FlashGot. Update and try again.

Corrected--- No problem with Flash Got enabled. The moment I enabled NS the hangs started.
Even today I tried it in one of the tab and FF hanged for about 5 sec. Surely a NS problem.

PS. Sorry for being dumb and not clear on the first instance.

Works fine with 1.9.3.3.
Hence there is a possible bug in 1.9.3.5

@nagan:
possibly an effect of a slow DNS and synchronous DNS queries from ABE for the LOCAL rule.
Could you try disabling ABE (NoScript Options|Advanced|ABE) or just the SYSTEM ruleset?

Sorry as my previous post suggests I have reverted back to the earlier version. And I presume ABE? is a new intro in 1.9.5?

1.9.3.4 (the development build immediately after the current stable).
I'd like you to check.

Trying msn.in from Australia.
Standard behaviour for a dns fail - ie default aprox minute search and then the default 'Page Load Error' message.
I guess redirection occurs for Indian servers.

For the hang problem otherwise, I've been experiencing a weird start-up freeze of Fx UI accessibility in general - tabs not accessible immediately they are opened and keyboard input not immediately accessible. It doesn't last for longer than the first few site requests, and I was beginning to think about looking at the hardware here - it's a basic Clevo laptop, distinctly underpowered for all but the most basic Flash rendering.

There are a couple of changed logon behaviours at a couple of other sites.

Posting over in the thread indicated by therube for the meantime, until I get time to do a purposeful test. The only other machine available to me is a rather higher-powered intel E7400 setup, where everything goes so fast that I don't notice pages rendering, let alone other kinds of hangs.

This began happening about a week ago - coincident with installing 1.9.3.4.
Running 1.9.3.5 now.

Tried 1.9.3.5 again. By default only Enable ABE was ticked ,I unticked it. Now it is fine! Even Nan M has this hanging problem it seems and wonder if it is because of the latest NS and she could also try out the trial remedy.

Edited
By the day advanced features are introduced and are most welcome .But for critical assessment examples of sites (even artificially created samples ) could help appreciate the features ,just like the one you gave for partial permissions.

I am using the latest dev build x.5 and other than occasional random hangs (the one therube linked to) nothing that I would consider a major or constant problem. Hope that helps Giorgio but if you have a specific test plan, I would be happy to play around for you.

Hi nagan,
Would nagan like to try the latest development version and come over to the development thread - to keep it all in one place for Giorgio? I'm reporting there today.
