Postimage.org not working with NoScript

I'm very much dependent on PostImage.org or PostImg.org service to host my images (w/o registration, always). However since I installed NoScript to my Firefox v3.1 beta 3, version 2.6.6.2 to be precise, it stoped working.

First, postimage show a normal button to choose a file:

Image
postimage add file works

...and then it after some time, change to the javascript one, as shown up (screenshot first is from Firefox 3.1, bottom taken from Opera 11.62, as with NoScript it no longer works for me).

Now this was is impossible to upload pictures AND get them with the thumbnail option, for example. No way. So, not usable.

Obvious solution is to enable the script for this page. Yet the result is THIS:

Image
postimage not work with noscript

Now obviously this is NOT what I want. The missing button render the website useless. Even allowing the scripts to run even on postimg.org did not help at all. In fact, the missing JS button is there for a like half second or so visible and THEN in disappear forever. You can click, but nothing react. Complete failure.

Of course my Firefox is older a bit, however I have to use this old version because v3.6 crash with my email provider on new email each time, so... No way to upgrade. I can only downgrade to 3.0.14 with works perfectly with the email seznam.cz, but not as good on YewTube or so, so...

Anyway the main problem is, that it worked just great w/o NoScript and it refuse to work now. Hence the bug is in NoScript, I presume. Any idas how to fix it, or must I use only Opera now... or downgrade to some older version of NoScript, or...???

Are you saying that earlier versions of NoScript did work?
If so, what versions?
(I do see that earlier versions do work, but I jumped back to April 2009, so what in the recent past did work?)

Really pushing things, aren't we ;-).

I just picked something old & this does work:
http://secure.informaction.com/download ... .1.0.2.xpi

Don't know if this is relevant?

Code: Select all

Error: Permission denied for <http://postimage.org> to call method UnnamedClass.toString on <>.

Code: Select all

Error: uncaught exception: unknown (can't convert to string)

Errr, no. That would be a misinterpretation. I never before tried NoScript. I just recently get fed up with all the scripts that bog down the browser on my oldie HW, so I trying to battle this. However I end up between rock and hard place. More recent browsers are either crashing with email I have since 2001, or are notably slower... And with NoScript the Postimage does not work anymore. Damn.

True. But I have a little choice there. No-one seems to want fix the email (despite horrendous number of people complaining and wanting as option the old html email back, but no no no, they REFUSE to give it back, so...) and likevise no-one seems to want speed up the Firefox browser in the more recent versions, not to mention Win2k support was down since v12, so a little or no reason to upgrade.

At least there is tester with this older FF  Take it from the good side.
this does work
So, version 2.1.0.2 will work? Gotta try that ASAP :!:

PS. tried and failed. No difference. Then I tried to clear all the cache & history, yet no change. Weird, but it does not work. At all. So the older version did not help, hance I have to uninstall this nice plugin. Till some fix is awailable, that it is.

You could try installing another browser alongside Firefox 3.1, like Seamonkey, or maybe Pale Moon (although NoScript is not officially supported on Pale Moon - but it usually works). Then you can still use Firefox 3.1 for your webmail, but use a newer and safer browser for everything else.

If you were to do that, you could run two separate instances & versions of FF, simultaneously, if need be.

(I've got two instances of SeaMonkey & one FF 3.0 [used as back-end for Chatzilla] at the moment.)

However, when w/o NoScript things work well, then there is a little reason to bog down browser speed by using more recent Firefox, as these new versions are clearly targeted for much faster machines, unlike my Celeron D 2.8GHz crap (NetBurst architecture is crap in general, but Celeron D got it the worsest)...

Regardless, another bug was unreported yet. The "live" playback on Ulozto.cz (some video files can be played as preview) won't work with NoScript. No biggie for me, but... let me look for some video that I actually CAN link there to show it up... (mostly porn stuff, so, let's find something that is at least not too... explicit or kinky)

In a current browser & NoScript, all it needs are +uloz.to & +ulozto.cz.

In an old browser & current NoScript, it does not work.

Don't know if meaningful.

Code: Select all

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004002 (NS_NOINTERFACE) [nsISupports.QueryInterface]"  nsresult: "0x80004002 (NS_NOINTERFACE)"  location: "native frame :: <unknown filename> :: <TOP_LEVEL> :: line 0"  data: no]

Code: Select all

Security Error: Content at http://ulozto.cz/live/xEs3bkTd/nasa-unpredicted-surprise-radiation-avi may not load data from http://img5.uloz.to/ul3/css/fonts/c3efaddb2b9c2f031a5829970bce32ad.ttf.

In an old browser & an old NoScript, it does work.

Pick & choose what works for you, otherwise can't image you're going to win ;-).

Witch old version of NoScript you mean?
I remember clearly that using old version did not help the PostImage problem at all :(

Could it be because of installing the old NoScript over the new one? (prefs, or so...?)
