[RESOLVED] Allow affects all windows and tabs

I suggest that clicking Allow only allow in the present tab or window. Now Allow affects all Firefox Windows and Tabs.

You can prevent the other tabs from automatically reloading by using about:config to toggle noscript.autoReload.allTabs to false.

Thanks, that works perfectly. It reloads only the tab I am viewing.

Since this has been such a commonly requested issue and although the FAQ exists for it and we have discussed it many times on the forum people keep asking, maybe if Giorgio finds the time, add a small toggle for this to the GUI to avoid the constant asking. Just a thought, although not a huge biggie for most of us.

I was going to suggest making the default for noscript.autoReload.allTabs to false, but then thinking a bit, it may end up being more confusing to a new (NoScript) user where they would expect ALL affected tabs to reload & would be confused if they did not.

Agreed, changing it might create more confusion but providing a toggle might resolve many. Up to Giorgio to weigh them.

This is a HUGE issue. Users certainly cannot be expected to realize that, when they enable a script in one tab in one window, they are enabling all scripts of the same name in all tabs of all windows.
For example, google-analytics.com is used by many, or most, web sites. When it is enabled, it allows Google to connect the data from one web site to another.
Enabling AutoReload.AllTabs should be a menu choice, and should be explained during installation, in my opinion.
There are many different patterns of use of browsers. People who do a lot of online research often have many windows open. Each window usually has many tabs. NoScript causes Firefox to respond very slowly in that case, because each tab and each window is separately reloaded. That is especially slow if the user has a slow internet connection.
